VERONICA VILLA KAVORAYAPURAM
“How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD of hosts!”
It was the will and plan of God that our convent, Veronica Villa, located in Kavirayapuram, a village in Dindugal district, was blessed by Most Rev. Dr. Antony Poppuswami, the Archbishop of Madurai, on 1st December 2017. Our former Provincial, Sr. Ancilla, along with delegation Superior Sr. Jayamary and many sisters from Tamil Nadu communities, were present for the blessing ceremony.
Initially, there were four sisters in the convent: Sr. Catalina (Sister-in-charge), followed by Sr. Maria Rajeena, and currently Sr. Kavitha Mary serves as the Sister-in-charge, alongside sisters Catalina, Joyce Mary, and Maria Flavin.
Our apostolate includes faith formation, evangelization, parish activities, and medical care. With the help of a mobile van, we extend our services to three neighboring villages. We also prepare children for their first Holy Communion and assist adults in preparing for marriage.
Sr. Catalina takes care of bedridden individuals in our village, providing necessary medical assistance. We regularly participate in BCC meetings twice a week and pray with the community. Maintaining a cordial relationship with our parish priest is essential for the smooth operation of our apostolate in the village.
