ST.THERESE HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL, SHORANUR (1998)
Girls’ higher education
Vision and Mission:“Love Serves”
The sisters of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation started their educational apostolate at Shoranur on 19th January 1929. The Higher Secondary classes commenced on 31st August 1998, following the delinking of the Pre-Degree course from colleges. This was the first Higher Secondary School in Kerala under the Apostolic Carmel. The school serves as a second home for children. The fundamental principle that permeates and governs our institution is the motto, “Love Serves”.
Empowerment of women through education has been the dream of the foundress of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation, Mother Veronica. True to this vision, we strive to provide quality education to our girl students. The school has always maintained an excellent track record in academics, as demonstrated by our high pass percentage and ranks. Notably, in 2003, Nisha Pariyarath of our school secured the first rank in the Science batch.
Our students have excelled in state-level youth festival competitions as well as in various sports events. The school is well equipped with science labs, a computer lab, a library, smart classrooms, an auditorium, a chapel, and a playground. Additionally, the school plays a prominent role in social work.
Currently, there are 319 students studying in two science batches and one commerce batch. The management, principal, and staff, along with a highly supportive P.T.A. and parents, pave the way for the success of our students. The school mainly focuses on skill training, encouraging students to think analytically and critically, enabling them to uphold values and pursue purposeful lives for a better future.
